Redwood Shores, CA, June 6, 2001 (NASDAQ:CICI) Communication Intelligence
Corporation (CIC), enabling the world with "The
Power to Sign Online"TM, announced today a partnership with
Elibrium, maker of productivity software and a division of ClickAction,
Inc. (NASDAQ:CLAC), to market and sell CICs productivity applications
for the Palm based organizers through its retail and distribution
channel partners. Elibriums key channel partners include Ingram
Micro, one of the largest distributors in the US and top retailers
such as Staples, OfficeMax, Office Depot and several other national
and regional computer supply stores.
Through this significant expansion in distribution, CICs
popular productivity bundle of applications, which has been sold
previously through the companies own online store, will now be available
for the first time as a packaged product in popular storefronts.
The bundled offering includes CICs Jothandwriting recognition
software, QuickNotes- electronic notetaking application and
WordComplete®- text entry utility.
With Elibriums years of success and significant presence
in the retail market, CICs applications for handheld devices
will receive exposure to millions of additional end-users and consumers
at the point of sale, said Robert Williams, Vice President
of Online Sales for CIC. The demand for wireless devices continues
to grow and many customers still rely on retail stores for product
enhancements.
We chose CIC because they have proven themselves as an industry
leader and their robust applications make Palm devices easier to
use and more productive for consumers, said Christina Willett,
Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Elibrium division
of ClickAction. Our distribution channel and unique partnership
approach enables companies like CIC to bring their products into
the retail market without the tremendous overhead and material management
normally associated with conducting this type of business.
The product is expected to be available in retail outlets as early
as July. For more information on these applications or other software
available for download, visit our online store at www.shopcic.com.
